Make a button-flower greeting card

An original small layout for adult decorative paper craft.

Lay out the card

Choose a blank card and lightly sketch a stem. Arrange a small centre button with a few contrasting buttons around it as petals. Leave room for a short handwritten message and the card’s fold.

Decide how to attach

Check the instructions on a fixing method suited to both the card and the buttons. Test adhesion on a spare piece before attaching the final layout. Follow the stated drying time and keep the card supported while it sets.

Add one quiet detail

A drawn leaf, a repeated dot or a line of lettering can finish the card without filling every corner. Use a copy of the flower motif in our free sample if you want an outline to start from; arrange your own button sizes over it.

Present it thoughtfully

A dimensional card may need different packaging from a flat one. Keep loose buttons out of children’s reach, and give the finished card as a decorative item rather than a toy. Make sure attachments are secure before giving it.
